EDIT: IT WAS 280$, I AM SCREAMING

first of all, I’m just typing this post with my toes for the sole purpose of informing you about my experience with one particular cat tree

first of all: my starter experience with cat trees prior was:

  • had never had cats
  • had never had furniture dedicated to other species
  • never bought a cat tree
  • complete shock at sticker price for both ugly and aesthetic cat trees

so for a whopping 280$ I bought the only aesthetic tree I could find under 300$ with somewhat decent ratings.

my purchasing experience:

  • legit the branch arrived looking like some form of mildew on it and a crack in the base of the branch
  • they replaced the crack branch for free
  • I bought it on amazon as I have done for…many things that I wouldn’t want to suffer through carrying on a train
    • no, this is not an affiliate link, and I will still feel about as poor as a pasta-for-weeks fresh grad if you use this link

how my cats reacted:

  • very excited about the sisal portion of the branch
  • a class war was started based on whoever happened to be sitting at the top
  • there was at best, mild interest in the fluffy dangle ball
  • the middle platform basically was unused

what was the tree like after about 3 months?

  • the sisal was starting to fall off
  • my cats started using the middle platform
  • it started getting a tad wobbly [as of month 2]

what does it look like now? (month 7)

  • visually: better than other cat trees
  • does not look like 300 bux — I’m not sure it looks like 100 bucks
for the first few months, they ignored the platform. they started using it 1-2 months ago.
not only will this shred, but it will fall off in little worm looking pieces onto the white fluffy carpet platform
